The Summer Twilight Tourney Series continues in February with Love: Fate vs Chance!
Long have people debated whether Love is predetermined by Fate, or if people meet solely by Chance. Join us we attempt to solve this eternal mystery by exploring the history of Saint Valentine’s Day, making tokens of affection (favours), playing games of chance, eating chocolate & – as many medieval disagreements were solved – by fighting! Performances (especially themed around Love, Fate or Chance) during dinner are encouraged for the entertainment of our Baroness.
For the tournaments, combatants will have to make a choice: Trust their Fate, or take a Chance with the dice!
Each combatant will have 2 lives. If it pleases the populace, the fallen combatants can choose to take a chance rolling the dice – if luck is with them they get another life!
Weapons will be random. Each combatant will roll a dice to decide their weapon. If a combatant wishes to trade weapons with their opponent, there will be a roll off & the combatant with the highest roll will make the decision whether to trade or not.
If you have spare weapons and or gauntlets, please bring them. Combatants are encouraged to bring their banners (& banner poles) if they have them).
This is a potluck dinner. Please bring a plate to share. Oven space is limited, so please let us know in advance if you need it.
