Spring has sprung in Krae Gras & we’ve heard our warriors have been getting restless during these past Winter months!
This month, our Combat Archery Training will have a particular focus: WAR! Special guest Hanbal Bahadur al Barbari (Sir Hanbal) will be joining us at October Archery & War Training to share his experience as a war knight & teach the tricks & strategies of war! We will, of course, still have our usual all-ages archery activities as well, but for our combatants (both archers & heavy fighters) who would like to gain more war experience, this will be a real treat!
Our archery field will, as usual, be at Noble Park Secondary College from 1-4pm on Sunday the 18th & will have plenty of bows, arrows & some armour (BYO groin protection) available for loan.
Keen to practise your one-on-one battles as well? As always our Thursday Night Gathering & Training happens every week (on the 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th) from 7pm at the Dolphin’s Keep (24 Mons Parade, Noble Park)! Here we host training in both rapier & armoured combat for all experience levels. Non-fighters need not feel left out, you are invited to come along as well to have a chat or work on an an Arts & Sciences project! The first gathering of the month also plays host to our Fibre Guild meetups, where fans of turning fluff into fabric talk about our latest projects over a cup of tea!
Also at the Dolphin’s Keep, on Saturday the 10th from 2pm, is our Crafthall (Soapmaking) + Potluck! This month Lady Blythe Venell will be running a class on how to make Tudor Wash Balls! This is a simple & fun class (very child friendly!) on how to make easily-customised soaps, as they were done during the 16th Century. Materials will be provided at a cost of $8 per person.
For those not into soap, bring your current project & come along for a fun & laid back hangout, try out our (all-ages) axe throwing set, or do some fighter practise in the yard!
Our community potluck dinner also returns to Crafthall this month, after its very brief hiatus! Medieval foods are encouraged, but not required.
Lastly, the monthly Council meeting will be held on Tuesday the 13 via Zoom. Zoom details will be released closer to the date.
All of this month’s activities are newcomer-friendly & require no bookings, special clothing or gear to attend. For more information on any of our activities, please see our website or the relevant Facebook event pages.
