We have some big changes to our usual schedule this May!
Both Crafthall & Archery are on pause for the month as we have 2 very busy weekends in a row.
On Saturday the 9th, Stormhold is hosting the King & Queen out at Brimbank Anglican Church in Keilor East for William Marshal (bookings close on the 1st). With a full day of tournaments, feasting & elevations, it’s sure to be a massive event!
Which is why the next day (Sunday the 10th), we’re having a relaxing Royal Brunch! We’ll be at The Dolphin’s Keep (24 Mon’s Parade, Noble Park) with the King & Queen from 10am – 2:30pm for brunch, court & combat training (ever wanted to train with the King?). Bookings close on the 7th for catering purposes.
The next weekend (Saturday the 16th & Sunday the 17th), we’ll be teaming up with Stormhold for 2 full days of demos at Melbourne Renfair at the Yarra Valley Racecourse! Unfortunately tickets for this sold out quite a while ago, but if you managed to get some, come by our display! We’ll be showcasing various aspects of what the SCA has to offer & we’d love to chat to you there!
Despite a lack of Crafthall to serve as a guide for when our Council Meeting should be, the Zoom meeting will still happen on Tuesday the 12th! Zoom details will be released closer to the date.
Finally our Thursday Night Gathering & Training sessions remain unchanged, with both heavy & rapier training happening from 7pm every week on the 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th!
While there is also casual Arts & Sciences (& socialising) at these gatherings, the first Thursday of the month also plays host to our Fibre Guild meetings! This is a very fun & welcoming event, where everyone who enjoys fibrecrafts (spinning, weaving, knitting, nålebinding, etc) is invited to come along & nerd out about them!
While our Thursday nights are “come as you are”, both William Marshal & Royal Brunch are garbed events, so please wear your best attempt at pre-17th Century clothing. If you need to borrow something to wear, please reach out to our Chatelaine Bermund at chatelaine@kraeglas.lochac.sca.org so he can help you out.
For more information on any of our events this month, please see the relevant Facebook Event pages or our (or Stormhold’s) website.
