November is a very action-packed month in Krae Glas!
Most importantly, our Day of Champions will be held from 2pm on Saturday the 15th of November at the Dolphin’s Keep (24 Mons Parade, Noble Park)! This annual event is where we will choose our Champions for the year in Arts & Sciences, Rapier & Heavy Combat! This is a garbed activity, so please wear your best attempt at pre-17th-Century clothing. If you would like to borrow something to wear or feasting gear for this event, please reach out to our chatelaine (chatelaine@kraeglas.lochac.sca.org) as soon as possible. Bookings are strongly recommended to help the event run more smoothly on the day.
After an incredibly popular debut back in June, Dancehall (Crafthall) will be returning for Spring on Saturday the 8th from 2pm! Mistress Aliette will be gracing the Dolphin’s Keep with her presence to teach us a variety of medieval dances followed by a potluck dinner in the evening! Garb is encouraged (though not required) for this activity as dancing can feel very different in medieval clothes compared to modern clothes!
Musicians are especially encouraged to attend Dancehall, as live music is always much more fun! Folks not interested in dancing or playing music are most welcome to come along & work on their current projects or even just socialise & enjoy the atmosphere!
November Archery Training is hosted by Stormhold (though still at Noble Park Secondary College) & as such is an inanimate-target only (sharps-friendly) training. This will be held on Sunday the 16th, from 1-4pm. As always, there are plenty of bows, arrows & so on available for archery newcomers to borrow at no extra cost!
Our Thursday Night Gathering & Training sessions will run every week as usual from 7pm on the 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th. Whether you are into armoured combat, rapier fighting or just want to come along & socialise, all are welcome to join us at the Dolphin’s Keep.
Lastly, our monthly council meeting will be held from 7:30pm on Tuesday the 11th via Zoom. Details will be announced closer to then.
All our events this month are newcomer-friendly & none of our training activities require any experience or garb. For more information on any of this month’s activities, please see our website (or Stormhold’s website for this month’s archery training) or the relevant Facebook event pages.
