A Grand Royal Event

The Barony of Krae Glas in conjunction with the Academy presents: An evening with their Majesties the King and Queen of Lochac.
With feasting and frivolity, honour and high jinx!

A message from the Baron and Baroness

This weekend was held a Grand Royal Event. And Grand it was. Thank you to the wonderful event and feast stewards of this event, April of the Academy and Fergal Duveglas, under the guidance of Evil Baron Alain, for hosting this event for Krae Glas. We welcomed visitors from as far and wide as the Stormhold, Northern Reaches, Ynys Fawr, Innilgard, Politarchopolis, Rowany, Shire of Dismal Fogs, and the Kingdom of Ansteorra.

They had a small event planned, but this became much larger than initially anticipated. The food was delicious and well paced (thank you Fergal and your crew). The constant presence of delicious food such that no one could possibly leave hungry, and even attracted the Crown’s attention; proclaiming that the bar has just been set for their reign. The gingerbread soteltie was impressive and delicious.

Once again we were graced with the ever organised and well presented collegians of St Monica’s who boasted both serving and entertainment at this event (dressed by Mistress Lorix and Lady Phillippa), and trained for many weeks to serve and entertain our guests. The roving musicians and theatrics (including Lucas’ tremendous balancing acts) added a great atmosphere. Her Excellency Bethony particularly liked the beautiful flying bird puppets at the start of the courses. We personally heard many compliments of Raghnaid and Caitlin’s violin playing.

It was especially touching to hear of the many diverse deeds and persistence in chosen endeavours that have led to such recognition. It was great to see two members of the Barony, my wife and our Baroness Bethony, and our Australian Chair of the Board, Yvonne de Plumetot, recognised with admittance to the Order of the Laurel and Pelican respectively.

There was plenty of time to catch up with old friends and hear new stories, and marvel at the talents of the Barony, and be inspired by costume, music and dance and fine food. And thank you to Ciaran Shiranui once again for capturing all of the moments, your photos were terrific documentation of some very important moments for our Barony. Thanks again to all who took part.

Yours in service,
Gilbert Purchase
Baron of Krae Glas
